Star Athena first published her Quant pattern in the Winter 2007 issue of Knitty.com. Many spinners fell in love with this entrelac pattern that uses about 2 ounces and about 200 yards of yarn. It is a great pattern for showing off hand-dyed fiber and handspun yarn.

A handspun gallery of Quants is featured in the Summer 2009 issue of Spin-Off.

How do I make this download?  After getting a password, this should be more self-ev1dent.   Why must everything new in computers be so difficult, or just make me feel so stupid!  Spinning  and Spinoff used to be my favorite things, and I've been spinning 42 years.  Now I con't seem to get a pattern without computer skills I don't seem to have.  Thanks!  Karen Miskell

p.s. don't print this.

There is a "Download" arrow at the top right side of this page.  If you click there it should ask you what you want to do with the file, i.e., open it, print it, save it to disk - or some other option. (I am a Mac user, so it is very easy.)    You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader (free software from Adobe at www.adobe.com) to view/print  the document.

Good luck.

Thank you very much for sharing such a lovely pattern.  This will allow me to learn entrelac as well.  Thank you again!

I could not access the gallery of Quants---even though I downloaded the pattern easily.
